The impact of adding a thank you ping
Pings are a crucial part of League of Legends but adding a thank you option would tremendously impact the game for the better.
At this point in time, League of Legends has four main pings that are important for communicating with your team. There is a ping to let your team know that enemies are missing from their lane. There is also a ping to let teammates know they should probably head out of a certain area since they’re in danger. Yes, there is a ping for all you junglers out there to let everyone know you’re on your way about to gank. There is even a ping for asking someone to help you out in case you fall behind or get ganked in your respective role.
But what about a ping when someone gives you that last second heal to keep you alive? Or maybe, a ping to let your jungler know you appreciate them coming in to make your enemy run away faster than a New York minute? That’s right, a thank you ping would impact League of Legends tremendously in a positive way.
Too many times, teammates do all the right little things that can determine the outcome of a match. Whether they warded a spot for you or took a fatal hit to save your life, a plethora of Summoners would undoubtedly appreciate such a ping.

Adding a thank you ping would be the next logical step towards evolving the game towards fostering a positive environment. Since the overall community continues to grow, such a ping would help make the community even better, while weeding out those that are toxic when things get rough in the Summoner’s Rift.
Overall, a thank you ping would be a small gesture to let everyone know it’s all about the little things that matter in a match. Ganking, healing, taking a kill for the team to push objectives are just some of the situations that would warrant such a ping.
