The new Honor update in League of Legends is now the only way to earn key fragments to unlock loot chests. Here’s how to earn as many as possible by simply being a good teammate.

In case you missed it, patch update 7.13 recently introduced the new Honor update system. Now, Summoners can vote for a teammate that went above and beyond in a match, regardless of the outcome. This new Honor system in League of Legends should help improve the community and well, encourage positive team play.

When it comes to key fragments, that drop system also saw some new changes to where now, they’ll only drop through Honor. All a Summoner needs to do is continue to play matches and do their very best to leave victorious. For those that like to rage quit, name call, or grief throughout a match if things don’t go according to plan, keep in mind if you’re reported you will actually lose Honor points and key fragments won’t drop until you get some positive matches in.

It’s important to know if you love to unlock Loot chests and earn some incredible skins, champions, or unique wards, it’s all about being positive. Too many times if a teammate dies, many want to throw them under the bus or intentionally feed just to end a match.

Doing so will bring penalties as to which you might get a chat ban or even a suspension. When that happens, you’ll drop in Honor level and won’t get any key fragments or chests.

Again, this Honor system is all about purifying the community to remove a lot of the toxic aspects that make it unappealing to current and new gamers alike.

Overall, the best thing to remember is to be friendly, help each other out, and play your champion/role to the best of your ability. Nobody wins every single time but the one thing you can control is your attitude throughout a match, regardless of the final outcome.
