The new Honor system in League of Legends has so far gotten rave reviews but in the grand scheme of things, an experience bar for it should not be added.
By now, Summoners have enjoyed the new Honor update in League of Legends. It’s a unique system that lets gamers level up based on how they do in regards to playing, teamwork, and their overall contributions to a match. Everyone, unless you had any prior bans or suspensions, started out at Level 2 and slowly can level up over time. If you get reported and issued a chat ban or even suspended, you will level down.
One of the biggest complaints so far from those in the community is that no one really knows how much honor it takes to level up and if they’re heading in the right direction. Developers have said before that it’ll take time for Summoners to level up but at the end of the day, decided it would be best to not have an experience bar or anything of that nature in the game.
This makes a ton of sense since leveling up your Honor shouldn’t feel like a grind but more of a gradual rise if you’re doing all the right things to encourage positive matches that put everyone in a position to leave a match victorious. Even if you lose, one can still earn Honor if you’re honored by their teammates but again, it makes sense to not have an experience bar to encourage everyone to simply do and act their best when playing.

The overall League of Legends community isn’t exactly perfect and plenty of times can be toxic.
This new Honor system was meant to purify the community and put Summoners that actually play by the rules and are good teammates in a position to earn unique rewards by being positive.
If there is an experience bar, it would take away from the fact that it’s all about sportsmanship and being friendly even if things don’t exactly go as planned. Overall, it’s best to leave it a guess as to how one is leveling up their Honor to encourage everyone to simply be positive, keep cool even when losing, and above all else, give their best efforts when playing.
