In the grand scheme of things, League of Legends should allow Influence Points to be used for future new wards.
Whether you’ve been playing League of Legends since the beginning or recently got into it as of late, you’ve undoubtedly earned a plethora of Influence Points. After a while, IP tends to rack up as once you land all your favorite champions for the roles you enjoy playing in, they pretty much just sit there to the point of being forgotten.
For those Summoners that have played League of Legends for a number of years now, it’s easy to see IP in the thousands with nothing really to use it on. Runes will be changing completely in just a few months so that’ll be one area that won’t require IP to purchase. So what will be left besides champions and the occasional chroma skin sales that only happen a few times a year?
What makes the most sense is for developers to consider allowing wards to be purchased with IP. They’ve been adding new wards every now and then and considering that skins should remain to be only purchasable with Riot Points, wards are one of the most common items always used in the Summoner’s Rift.

If developers continued to add more wards on a daily basis, especially with every new patch update, it would be fantastic to have them be eligible to purchase with IP.
Perhaps if they rework a champion or even add a brand new one, they can add a new ward that accompanies it that could be purchased with IP directly in the store.
Of course, developers should make the prices high for wards to at least give incentive for Summoners to continue playing well in matches and have something fun to look forward to. Using different wards adds a nice dimension to bring something new and fresh every single time you want to have vision in key areas on the map. Overall, it might be the best decision they can make to not make IP feel like it’s not worth anything after a Summoner has all their desired champions.
