Ornn, the Fire below the Mountain, is the newest champion set to debut in League of Legends. First impressions are good for what looks to be one incredible character to use in the Summoner’s Rift.

When it comes to Ornn, the Fire below the Mountain, he’s going to be one of the most talked about and well, popular champions in League of Legends. His lore is interesting considering how it ties into Freljord and all the champions from that part of Runeterra. He’s a blacksmith that can easily turn the tide into his favor thanks to everything he brings to the table.

Right from the start, Ornn brings not one but two never-before-seen abilities when it comes to his kit. His Passive – Living Forge & Master Craftsman, makes him the first champion to ever be able to forge Shop items anywhere on the map as long as he’s out of combat. He can also create special upgrades for select items of his teammates as each is allowed one upgrade created by Ornn himself.

His Q – Volcanic Rupture allows him to slam the ground and send a fissure that deals physical damage and slows enemies. A pillar will form where Ornn targeted which acts like a wall for a brief amount of time. His W – Bellows Breath makes him unstoppable, shielded, and ready to spit flames from his mouth.

These special flames will deal a portion of the enemy’s current health as magic damage and that’s just the beginning. Enemy champions hit by the final part of W – Bellows Breath gets hit with a brand new debuff called Brittle. This debuff makes enemies that are stricken with it make stuns and immobilizing effects last longer. This will be huge when it comes to handling team fights.

His E – Searing Charge literally makes him charge and deal damage to enemies in front of him with a special twist to it. If he hits enemies with E – Searing Charge and collides with terrain, it creates a special shockwave that deals damage and knocks enemies up to the air. This is a great move to pin enemies against a wall for an incoming gank.

Finally, and best of all, Ornn’s Ultimate ability is a thing of beauty. His R – Call of the Forge God summons a massive fire elemental ram at a target location. It will charge toward him with increased speed and any enemies run over by it, will take a lot of magic damage and become Brittle.

He can then recast his Ultimate if he’s able to strike the elemental as it reaches him to bounce it back to opposing champions. Think about ping-pong to get an idea on how to manage his ultimate since it’s also easy to miss hitting his ram and end up with only half of its potential.

It remains to be seen just what role Ornn would excel in but by the looks of his kit, he could be a top lane and support champion. First impressions are very good for Ornn as he looks to be an exciting new champion that once he hits the Summoner’s Rift, will make his presence known early and often in matches.
