Heimerdinger, the Revered Inventor, is a total blast to play and can be a force to reckon with in top lane of League of Legends.
When it comes to everyone’s favorite Yordle inventor, after several nerfs and buffs, Heimerdinger is in a very good place now in League of Legends. As per Champion.GG, he currently has a 52.52 percent win rate and is primarily a top lane champion.
Heimerdinger’s kit revolves around his amazing and deadly turrets. His Q – H-28G Evolution Turret allows him to drop up to three little turrets that auto attacks anything in sight. Based on what his turrets are attacking, if you hit enemy champions with his other abilities when they’re in their radius, they unleash some serious damage.
Let’s break down what a Summoner needs to do in order to play and master Heimerdinger to earn maximum results.
ABILITIES
In the grand scheme of things, everything revolves around his Q – H-28G Evolution Turret. Besides that, his kit features firing up long-range rockets, a grenade that stuns an enemy champion, and an ultimate that makes every other ability upgraded to do even more damage. Ideally, unlock your abilities by first going Q – H-28G Evolution Turret, then E – CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade, and W – Hextech Micro-Rockets. Depending on your playstyle, add more points if you’re great with hitting enemy champions with either your rockets or grenade. Personally, I’ve gotten more kills leveling up E – CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade since it stuns them in place as my turrets wreak havoc. Make sure to unlock R – Upgrade at Level 6.

When it comes to Heimerdinger, focus on Ability Power, Mana, and Health. If you want the best odds of leaving a match victorious, focus on this item build: Sorcerer’s Shoes => Morellonomicon => Liandry’s Torment => Zhonya’s Hourglass => Void Staff => Rylai’s Crystal Scepter.

When it comes to banning champions that counter Heimerdinger, make sure to stay away from Syndra, Malzahar, and Xerath.

For runes, the name of the game is Magic Penetration and Ability Power. Set up your runes with Greater Mark of Magic Penetration (9), Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power (9), Greater Seal of Armor (9), Greater Quintessence of Ability Power (3).
FINAL TIPS & STRATEGY
When enemy champions approach your turret trying to take them out, it’s the perfect time to hit them with E – CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade to stun them in place and have them do extra damage. As they’re fleeing, hit them with W – Hextech Micro-Rockets and if they’re about to die, pop his ultimate R – Upgrade!!! to finish them off with another ability that should seal the deal.
Overall, Heimerdinger’s turrets do a fantastic job of farming minions but his real damage comes from perfectly timing his W and E abilities when enemy champions are within range of them. Make sure to save them for those opportune moments when enemies think they can take out a turret. Once fully leveled and properly geared, Heimerdinger can truly be a difference maker later on in matches as he can setup his turrets to keep pushing a lane straight to victory.
