A new leveling reward system is coming to League of Legends. They’ll be no more Level 30 cap but a better experience by being rewarded for leveling up.

We’ve all been there before or even at the very least, had friends complain about the first time they started to play League of Legends. It’s a grind to hit Level 30 to enjoy playing draft pick matches in the Summoner’s Rift so you don’t have to spam chat about the role you’d like to play.

It’s a frustrating situation, to say the least. Besides that, leveling up to 30 feels like a grind and with a very small starting champion pool and whatever random characters are free in the weekly rotation, it’s just not a fun experience after the first few levels. Luckily, a major overhaul is coming this preseason when it comes to the leveling system.

Say goodbye to the level cap as developers BuboBubo and Riot Cactopus have confirmed that it will be completely removed in League of Legends. That’s right, a new rewards system will be in place that is a better experience focused on earning loot drops as you play. As you play the game, you’ll see loot drops more frequently and constant Blue Essence to then use in the Store to purchase the champions you’d actually enjoy playing as.

Thanks to these upcoming changes, Summoners will feel more incentives for focusing on understanding and executing in a game rather than squeeze out a plethora of matches just to hit a certain level.

They should feel like they can queue up with their friends to play but not feel excluded because they’re not eligible for draft pick or other types of game modes in League of Legends that originally required to be a certain level.

This is one of the many ways that developers are hoping can streamline the entire experience of playing the game and have it be fun, engaging, and worth the time put in when gaming. It’s easy to get frustrated and feel like you’re not getting what you put into the game. Now, with no level cap, Influence Points being merged into Blue Essence, and loot becoming more frequent, it’s a huge step in the right direction to avoid all that.

Overall, this is a welcomed change to leveling as it should result in better experiences and even for long-term players, a sense of earning loot more frequently for doing what they do best.
