The Level 30 cap system will officially be removed from League of Legends in the future. In its place will be a better reward leveling system meant to simplify earning champions and Loot all along the way.
In the grand scheme of things, a level cap in a video game can be interesting but not so much when it comes to playing a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena). When it comes to League of Legends, it’s particularly frustrating for new players getting into the game since they’re unable to queue up with their friends to do draft pick matches or even had champions they preferred to play as. Luckily, all that is about to change in a few months.
Developers have officially announced that this upcoming preseason, there will no longer be a level cap of 30. Instead, a new leveling system will be introduced which rewards players as they play the game. So instead of having that feeling of needed to do any and all matches to grind to Level 30 to play the better game modes with friends, you’ll get Loot as you level and a steady stream of Blue Essence.
Besides removing the level cap, developers are also converting Influence Points directly into Blue Essence. That way, Summoners can collect BE and use it towards unlocking champions they’d prefer to play instead of getting random ones they’d disenchant anyway. It’s a more streamlined approach to ensuring an enjoyable experience for getting the most out of the time invested.
At the end of the day, this is a welcomed sight for League of Legends which should help bring even more new players to the game. That, in essence, is what gaming is all about. If you enjoy playing League of Legends and bring in friends to see if they’d like it, the goal is to play with them, not only be able to play matches against the AI because they aren’t leveled up enough to play matches that actually count.

This should also undoubtedly help players improve in the game. Sure, going up against the computer is great for those at first who are brand new to League of Legends, but it doesn’t teach the core fundamentals of the game.
But if one really wants to learn the ins and outs of the game, roles, items to build, and how to play against other champions, it’s best to learn by playing against real competition.
Once developers remove the level cap, it will bring in a new era when it comes to League of Legends. Now, whether you’re brand new or a veteran of the game, you’ll earn awesome Loot and BE all along the way which should provide a richer experience as the game continues to grow.
