The new League of Legends Emotes wheel will be live in patch update 7.18. Here’s how to use it including the free emote every Summoner gets right from the start.

Patch update 7.18 in League of Legends will introduce a lot of changes to champions, items, and also add a huge new feature into the game. Once it goes live, Summoners will get a new Emotes wheel to use as they play in a match.

To celebrate the launch, every Summoner will get a free “Thumbs Up” emote that’s available for free via the in-game Store. Once purchased for free, it will be added to the new area in the Collection tab. Here, Summoners will be able to add more emotes as they collect them for a total of using up to seven different options before entering a match.

Keep in mind that five emotes are able to be used throughout a match and two are specifically for the start and end of one. You’ll be able to pick those but for the most part, this is an incredible way to express all the trials and tribulations that can happen in a match.

By default, the new Emotes wheel will be key-bound to “T” and if for some reason you don’t want to see them by teammates or enemy champions in a match, you can actually mute them all. Look for the “Mute Enemy Emotes” option in the menu.

More from Patch Updates

By the looks of it, emotes are going to be a great way to express either joy or anger depending on what occurs in a match. For the most part, it’s a unique way to let your teammates know they did a great job or fire up angry emotes to enemy champions to distract them before a gank.

Best of all, developers can have a field day over time and add so many different kinds of emotes as time progresses, it could be a huge interactive part to collect them all. At launch, there will be 20 emotes available with more coming.

One can imagine that they’ll be special emotes coming for limited time events and it’ll be great to see what developers do for Worlds 2017. Either way, enjoy using emotes for whatever your heart desires in the Rift.
