League of Legends wise to completely remove level cap

In the upcoming Runes Reforged update, the level cap will be completely removed in League of Legends as it’s a wise choice for the future.

At this point in time, the level cap in League of Legends is set to 30. After a Summoner hits 30, that’s pretty much it when it comes to the leveling system. Yes, years ago, it made sense but at this point in time, it’s best to think about the long-term benefits of having a level cap in place for a game of this magnitude.

The truth of the matter is, once you hit level 30, that’s pretty much it. Yes, there are other parts of the game to level up like Honor, champions, and your overall mastery score but they aren’t really as satisfying. Once Runes Reforged comes out in early November, all that is about to change.

Developers have confirmed that during the huge Runes Reforged update, they will completely remove the level cap and replace it with one that is infinite. That’s right, there will be no end number as it will continue indefinitely.

This is a smart decision in the grand scheme of things since there will be a sense of purpose and reward everytime you level up. Developers are also replacing earning Influence Points after a match with Loot chests every time a Summoner levels up.
