Team Vitality vs Splyce

Next up in the LEC week 6 we have Team Vitality facing off against Splyce. Both teams are having fairly even records so far and just by looking at their stats we could not tell who is the favorite here – if anyone.

Team Vitality slowly seem to find a style fitting for the squad as we were able to watch them defeating and upsetting (haha) Schalke 04. They do struggle a lot to get back into the game when falling behind in their jungle and mid lane which we clearly saw in the surprising loss to SK Gaming.

However, we can say similar things about Splyce’s team as well knowing they had nothing to deliver against a proactive Fnatic and an aggressive Team Vitality before. Rookie Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup will most likely have to play a safe control-mage and focus on not falling behind until mid-game allowing his jungler to focus on helping the bot lane duo and providing them with ganks. After all, I reckon Team Vitality will play much more aggressive and look for early skirmishes which they can definitely win – even if it is just because of pure individual talent which they surely have enough of.

Prediction: Team Vitality

SK Gaming vs Misfits

This match in LEC week 6 is a very interesting one. Normally I would see Misfits ahead of SK Gaming as they provide much more talent and experience in pro-play on paper than their opponents. But it is not that simple.

SK has shown remarkable results being on a 3-game-win streak so far and looking for more whereas Misfits lost their last 4 matches in a row despite being the clear favorite in two of those. They fell behind early in the bottom lane against Splyce which they were unable to ever recover from and were upset by a surprisingly well playing Rogue that finally played together as a real team. Misfits seem to lack that synergy and they get heavily punished for it. SK Gaming is on a roll right now and despite them being far from unstoppable they will be such a threat for Misfits if the squad does not play to their strengths.

Prediction: SK Gaming

Fnatic vs Origen

Fnatic versus Origen – it is not the El Clásico but this matchup surely has an incredible history. Now, in LEC week 6, roughly four years after the 2015 grand final in summer many things have changed.

Last year, Fnatic were exceptionally close to achieving the unthinkable – winning Worlds. The Worlds finalist lost one of their key members right afterward with Caps leaving for G2 Esports and now they look everything but as dominant in the LEC. Sitting at a disappointing 3-7 record this team needs to work a lot harder than the rest to even think about playoffs.

Origen in opposition has been playing well and can realistically not only dream but really think about playoffs and their top contenders. Despite a rocky start for the organization they quickly fought back finding the form their fans expected and hoped for – two weeks later they have a 5-game winning streak. Fnatic absolutely does have the talent and staff to get out of this slump and start winning but it has to start against the likes of Origen or playoffs will remain a dream this Split.
