We have recently had crazy games in the League where G2 suffered their first loss and Rogue finally secured a win in this Split. Did that mix up this week’s predictions or is everything the same in the LEC week 6?

LEC Week 6 is upon us and it is still hard to figure out who will make playoffs and which teams will fall down this Split. Only G2 Esports has settled themselves clearly at the top with a 9-1 record so far. Will this week’s matches reveal more weaknesses of the current LEC kings and how are the underdogs going to perform?

Schalke vs G2 Esports

The opener for this gameday is also the match between the two top teams so far in the Split. G2 has shown amazing results only falling down once to Origen. They do not even have to play around star mid laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther entirely as this roster is fully stacked with talent in every single position.

Schalke should by no means be seen as an underdog here though since they performed incredibly as well. The squad loves to play around their strong bottom lane, having Elias “Upset” Lipp on a hyper carry and utilizing his synergy with IgNar in- and outside of the lane successfully.

So, what is most likely going to happen?

The exact outcome is fairly hard to predict, especially since we do not know how the draft is going to go. I expect Schalke 04 to provide Upset with lots of resources to play and ultimately carry with. They also need to secure an early-game focused jungler pressuring Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski immensely as he has been a rather weak link of the star line-up.

The “Kings of Europe” on the other hand will probably try to provide Caps with a strong mid laner who he can dominate the mid-game with and enable advantages. G2 might also look to give Martin “Wunder” Hansen a strong duelist with the ability to rule a side-lane allowing his team to play their famous 1-3-1. At the end of the day – if the draft goes well for them – I see G2 ahead of S04, but nothing is for sure here.

ExceL Esports vs Rogue

If I had not seen last week’s matches I would have written how bad Rogue has been looking and that I can see them not winning at all this split. Recently, though, they actually beat Misfits who are clearly a top contender in the LEC and everything below top 4 would be immensely upsetting for. Does that mean Rogue is going to perform much better now and still have a chance for playoffs?

Frankly, I do not think so. Knowing they admitted needing to change the roster and trying things out, it does not seem like they have found their way to success, yet. Yes, it is a step – a very important one – but far from enough.

On the contrary, you can argue that ExceL has looked just as poor as them, considering they are sitting at a 2-8 record and therefore only before Rogue themselves. When they played Rogue in the first week of LEC, jungler Marc “Ceadrel” Lamont was clearly the winning condition, ending the game 6/0/3 with Kha’Zix. I believe he is one of the more skilled players in this matchup and given a champ with the possibility to get picks and create openings he might just do it all again in the LEC week 6.
