League of Legends: CBLOL 2019 Split 2 Playoff Final Preview
By s. samek
One of the major League of Legends regions has its final this weekend. Who will be crowned the CBLOL champion?
We have a rematch going down in the Spilt 2 playoff finals of the CBLOL. Flamengo eSports and INTZ will do battle once more to crown the Brazilian League of Legends champion.
While Flamingo has been the best team in CBLOL during both regular splits by record, when the two squads met during the Split 1 playoff championship INTZ took the series 3-2 to earn the CBLOL’s spot at MSI 2019. Despite this loss, Flamingo finished 20-1 in spring and followed that up with a 16-5 record in the summer, both performances earning them the number one seed in the playoffs.

With a roster comprised of Leonardo “Robo” Souza in the top lane, Lee “Shrimp” Byeong-hoon in the jungle, Bruno “Goku” Miyaguchi in the mid lane and the bot lane duo of Felipe “brTT” Gonçalves and Han “Luci” Chang-hoon, a win would send them to their first-ever international tournament. Last week, Flamingo defeated Uppercut esports in the semi-finals 3-0 to claim their spot in the finals.
On the other side of the match-up, INZT INTZ did participate at MSI 2019, where they went 1-5 in play-ins and failed to qualify for the group stage.
With their roster of Rodrigo “Tay” Panisa manning the top lane, Diogo “Shini” Rogê in the jungle role, Bruno “Envy” Farias is the middle lane player, and in the bottom lane it’s the duo of Micael “micaO” Rodrigues and Ygor “RedBert” Freitas, the team will be looking to take their second-straight championship. INTZ finished Split 2 at 11-10 and in third place before defeating KaBum! in the semi-finals 3-1 to advance to the finals. They are looking to sweep the playoff titles for 2019 and advance to worlds for the first-time sense 2016, where they finished in the 13th-16th place spots.
This is a battle of the two best teams the CBLOL has to offer. Should be an exciting match as they fight for the lone right to represent Brazil at the 2019 World Championships.
I think Flamingo is going to have the advantage in this matchup over INTZ based off their strength in the ADC and jungle positions. Shrimp should give Flamingo an advantage in the Jungle, while brTT should do so in the bottom lane.
Overall Flamingo has performed well enough during the regular splits to show they are the best team in Brazil. For that reason I think they get it done and get to make their world’s debut.
