Patch 10.8 will bring three new Coven skins to League of Legends.

The Coven skin line is returning to League of Legends for a second round. The first round featured  Camille and Lissandra while the most recent round has Morgana, Leblanc, and Zyra joining the coven. If you’re on the fence and want to know what we at BoL think of the new skins, here is my review.

Let’s cover Leblanc first. While I’m not a fan of the champion I would say this skin may change that. It looks cool and menacing with glowing gold eyes and a gold and black color scheme. I also like the broken magic mirror during her recall animation.

At first, I thought the theme might be something she already had in her lineup, but it is different enough form say her Prestigious skin to warrant making this one. Plus the Coven just looks way better and, honestly, this might be my favorite skin for her. It will cost 1350 RP and there are seven chromas options to choose from.

Zyra is the second new Coven skin being released at the 1350 RP price point. She also has the option of getting a gold Prestige edition, but no chromas. It’s not a bad skin, and I really like the color scheme of the darker blues, greens, and purples. It seems to be a bit of a theme overlap with both haunted and dragon sorceress skins she already has.

Either option would work if you’re looking for a more modern Zyra skin, so it does diminish the value of Coven Zyra. However, I would recommend the Coven skin to be worth purchasing more than not.

The final skin is the Coven Morgana at the price point of 1820 as a new legendary skin. I feel like this skin is absolutely gorgeous. The coven/witch theme also fits in really well with Morgana, even if this is a repeat of her Bewitching skin. This skin just looks way better.

The black shield is now a deep red and her black soil is a deep black with red roses popping up. It’s really visually appealing.  It’s also worth noting there are four chromas for this skin that look really good as well, with pearl being my standout pick.

I’m just not happy it’s going to cost 1820 RP to add this skin. If it was only 1350 RP it would be a slam dunk of a purchase. I would still recommend buying it, but maybe when it goes on sale, or hope you get lucky in a Hextech chest. It’s just sad that such a great skin is so expensive.
