Our LCS Summer 2020 Week 7 player power ranking ranks the ADCs.

ADC

1. Edward “Tactical” Ra (Team Liquid) – 89.4

My god has Tactical been an absolute monster since taking the reigns from Doublelift in Summer 2020. He was the most important player on the team in their win of that heavyweight match against Cloud9, going 6/3/8 with 100% kill participation. Even in their loss to FlyQuest, Tactical had TL’s only two kills (a 2/3/0 Ezreal game).

On the season, Tactical leads all ADCs in kill participation (73.0%), while also not being a resource hog. He’s been basically the best teamfighting ADC in the LCS while also being, perhaps, the best laner (averaging +494 gold and +5 CS differentials at 15).

2. Bae “Bang” Jun-sik (Evil Geniuses) – 88.0
3. Ian Victor “FBI” Huang (Golden Guardians) – 87.3
4. Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng (TSM) – 86.0
5. Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen (Cloud9) – 83.1
6. Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes (CLG) – 81.0
7. Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen (Dignitas) – 80.5

Johnsun came into the split with a lot of hype. I wouldn’t say that he’s failed to live up to it, as he’s proven to be a solid ADC that I think will have a long LCS career. The biggest question for Johnsun is whether he can step up and become the star carry that Dignitas needs to get over the hump and make it into playoffs.

Johnsun currently has an adjusted DPM of 466.5, which is far below average. This is in spite of the fact that he’s received the second-largest gold share of any ADC (Doublelift, at 28.3% leads all ADCs at this mark, but Johnsun is close behind at 28.0%), giving him one of the lowest damage-to-gold ratios of all ADCs (it’s actually third-worst, but one of those belongs to Zven, who has played off-meta picks all split and the other is Altec who played only two weeks).

In short, Dignitas is pouring a lot of resources into Johnsun and he is not using them efficiently. Yes, you can point out that he’s been stuck on some low-damage champions recently (he has six games on Ashe this split) but his aDPM is largely the same from spring when he had a lot more games on champs like Aphelios and Miss Fortune. Johnsun is a player with a lot of talent, but he still needs to show he has the capability to be a great player, rather than just a good one.

8. Jason “WildTurtle” Tran (FlyQuest) – 78.3
9. Cody “Cody Sun” Sun (100 Thieves) – 76.5
10. Brandon “Mash” Phan (FlyQuest) – 76.2
11. Apollo “Apollo” Price (Immortals) – 73.5
12. Johnny “Altec” Ru (Immortals) – 68.2
