Doom Bots will be the latest addition to the Rotating Game Mode.

It’s official, the Rotating Game Mode is on fire right now.

The return of URF was phenomenal, but that wasn’t the only surprise up Riot’s sleeve.

Yesterday, it was announced that Doom Bots of Doom is set to make it’s return to League and debut in the Rotating Game Mode. That’s right, Doom Bots is coming back.

Doom Bots isn’t on the same level as URF, but it’s probably just right below it. It’s one of the most fun game modes League has to offer, and people go crazy for it. If you ever see people making suggestions for the Rotating Game Mode, adding Doom Bots to the queue was always the most popular request.

While Doom Bots is returning, it’s coming back revamped and better than ever due to a plethora of changes.

How Doom Bots is different this time around

The biggest change is that it will be played on an “extra spooky Summoner’s Rift.” Map updates like this are always exceptional as it sets the right mood for whatever game mode it’s for. It sounds like this could be the coolest version of Summoner’s Rift that we’ve ever seen. Also, as far as the map goes, it will actually be cut in half in order to “double down on the doom.” Interesting.

More from News

Doom Bots will rush lanes relentlessly. If you survive for 15 minutes, the Evil Overlord of the Doom Bots will be summoned. If he is killed, you win the game. However, if his Doom Bots take down your nexus, you lose. They aren’t naming who the big boss man is, but it sounds like it will be Teemo. It would be very fitting since he is getting a skin that literally turns him into Satan. He’s just too perfect for the role.

Doom Bots will never leave their lane, and when they die, they will return to lane incredibly quickly. You won’t have much time to relax.

As previously mentioned, the only way to win is to take down the Evil Overlord of the Doom Bots. Their towers are invulnerable, so there’s no point in trying to push. The only thing you have to do is survive. However, towers aren’t completely useless. If you are able to suicide minions into a Doom Bots’ tower, you will be given a small burst of both health and mana.

There will also be quests in the game mode that will give your team a boost in power whenever completed.

New Doom Bots roster

The Doom Bots roster was fairly small the last time it was around, but it’s much bigger this time.

The official champion roster for Doom Bots is Amumu, Annie, Blitzcrank, Brand, Chogath, Ezreal, Fiddlesticks, Galio, Heimerdinger, Leona, Lulu, Lux, Malzahar, Morgana, Tristana, Udyr, Veigar, Wukong, Yasuo, Yorick and Ziggs.

That’s a great list of champions that allows a lot of variety for people to play against.

One thing that makes Doom Bots so much fun is the fact that the bots get crazy powers, and that will remain true this time as curses will be in effect. Curses are global buffs that will effect every Doom Bot or simply the map itself, and they will rotate randomly every few minutes. The list of curses is Celestial Expansion, Tempered Fate, Giga Blinding Dart, Brush Fire, Death Defied, Realm Warp, Electrified Turrets, Windwall, Twilight Shroud, Devilish Duplicates, Aegis Protection, Hallucination, Poison Trail and Blood Scent.

The Gauntlet mode

Finally, the last exciting thing about Doom Bots returning is The Gauntlet mode. This is a game mode that will allow players to decide just how hard the game is. Players will use the chat command “/votelevel ##” to determine how hard the bots are (levels are from 1-100). A level will be set if four or more players vote for the same level. However, the difficulty will be randomized if players cannot agree on a level.

This is going to be an extremely difficult mode when playing the highest levels, and there will be an icon given to players who complete some of the highest possible levels.

Doom Bots will hit the PBE at any moment now, and it will surely be up there for quite a bit as Riot will have a lot of things to test out. You’re one lucky summoner if you have a PBE account right now.

We were given a question mark for the final game mode of October in the latest Rotating Game Mode schedule, but this pretty much guarantees that it will be Doom Bots.

Get ready.
