With the latest 7.1 patch update in League of Legends, jungle has some main changes that will undoubtedly affect Summoners who enjoy the role.

In patch update 7.1, League of Legends nerfed a plethora of champions and made significant changes to how the role of jungle is to be played. At first, champions were able to level up quicker than usual from all the jungle XP at the start of a match.

Needless to say, it caused an imbalance in match progression and League decided to change it dramatically. Not only have all the enemy camps been changed but new plants have emerged which now change how champions gank and go in pursuit against the opposition through jungle.

The overall experience when first doing a full clear has been reduced to allow for a steadier leveling. This will allow everyone to be relatively close to each other in regards to their respective level and not have higher-leveled jungle champions wreak havoc early on against enemy champions that are lower-level.

These changes make sense in the grand scheme of things. It allows Summoners that play the jungle role the ability to scale properly with their teammates. That way, it’s an even playing field which results in better and above all else, fairer competition.

Before these changes, junglers were able to turn the tide of battle in favor of their respective teams right off the bat. They were able to earn more gold faster, level up quicker, and be able to easily take down foes in lanes due to their early game advantages. These changes should implement a little less early-game push and allow a normal progression for junglers that starts out quick but streamlines with everyone else in the match.

Overall, these changes are good heading into the new year for League and especially for all the great tournaments coming up. What are your thoughts about the main changes to jungle? Please leave your comments below!
