10-ban update to be coming sooner rather than later
The new 10-ban update in the Esports scene of League of Legends has gotten rave reviews. Will it finally be released to all users of the game sooner rather than later?
Before the start of the LCS Spring Split, League of Legends introduced a new 10-ban update for teams in order to bring even more diverse gameplay to the Esports scene. So far, it’s been going great since it now makes pro players have to master even more champions in case their mains get banned.
Now that it’s become a norm in the pro scene, when should regular players expect such a ban system to finally take place in all versions of the game? In an article written by James “Obscurica” Chen for PVP Live, he confirmed that the developers of League of Legends are working on a finalized version but with a twist.
Basically, there will be ban system in place that instead of having two ban phases, it will let everyone simply ban at once. This would allow faster queues and more time in the Fields of Justice rather than wasting time deciding which champions they don’t want to face.

While there is no ETA as to when such a big update will hit League of Legends, such a ban system would undoubtedly improve the overall experience of the game. This will make players even better in the grand scheme of things since they’d have several mains of different roles.
Overall, it’ll more than likely be a few months before such a patch update goes live but if it’s anything like how the 10-ban system is in the LCS, it will make League of Legends continue to be the premier MOBA to play on the internet.
