Multiplayer is not coming to practice tool
When it comes to the amazing practice tool in League of Legends, it looks like adding a multiplayer option isn’t coming anytime soon.
The practice tool in League of Legends has gotten rave reviews since it was finally added to the game. In this mode, Summoners can hone their craft whether it’s how to get down the timing of their abilities, last-hitting minions, or practice when it’s best to use their ultimate.
This mode is only a single-player option but many Summoners felt it would be great to have the ability to play with their friends to teach them the game or vice versa. For many, they either solo queue or play duo with a friend and well, teamwork is the only way to be successful in League of Legends.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like developers are bringing any kind of multiplayer functionality to the practice tool. In the grand scheme of things, this makes sense.
In an article written by James “Obscurica” Chen for PvPLive.net, developers confirmed that adding multiplayer to the practice tool isn’t on their priority list. Here’s what they said via Chen’s article:
"Expanding beyond this functionality into a full scrimming tool, or a multiplayer sandbox, or a ‘custom game maker’ are each a significantly larger undertaking than the original Practice Tool, and at the moment there are just higher priorities and bigger opportunities for us to focus on — especially since Practice Tool in it’s current ‘training gym’ form still serves most of the needs for ‘shooting hoops’ in League."

Needless to say, it’s true. Yeah, being in the practice tool serves its purpose since if one thinks about it, if every Summoner specifically performed well in their particular role, then everything falls into place straight to victory for the most part.
Most of the time when a match is lost, it almost always comes down to either someone not doing their role effectively or a lack of communication/visibility.
The practice tool serves its purpose for helping a Summoner hone their craft with their preferred champion of choice. If they want to learn what to do in a team fight, how to synergize with another champion, or even learn how to gank others, the best thing to do besides the practice tool is play in real matches against other players.
It gives Summoners a real taste of competition while also showing them real life situations. This is better than making the practice tool have a multiplayer option since again, it makes more sense to practice with others in real matches that are unranked until Summoners are ready for the real deal in ranked play.

Overall, developers aren’t focused on adding multiplayer to the practice tool since they’re continuing to make League of Legends one of the top MOBAs in the world. In the long run, it’s best they continue to rework champions, add more features, and address bugfixes rather than waste their time and efforts adding a multiplayer feature to a mode that doesn’t need it at all.
