New details have emerged on a new Vanguard champion that’s headed to the Summoner’s Rift in League of Legends.

It’s sure been one amazing summer so far in League of Legends from all the new champions, reworks, and features being added into the game. Developers are doing their best to ensure that the game continues to be fun, fresh, and well, balanced in every aspect.

Speaking of new champions, details have emerged on what appears to be a new Vanguard champion hailing from Freljord. For those of you that main Braum, you know that’s where he originated from which means more than likely, this new champion will either be connected to him or even possibly be an archrival.

In an article written by Tanner Dedmon of ComicBook.com, he confirmed via developer Reav3 about the direction League of Legends wanted to go in with this new Vanguard champion. Take a look at what he said below:

"“One of the key traits of a Vanguard is that they can choose when and where to start a fight,” Reav3 said in his announcement. “With that in mind, we wanted to make a new playmaking Vanguard that charged headfirst into tough situations and made the enemy team fight on their terms. We also really wanted to make a very self-reliant champion; expect to see a unique new passive that helps them build more than just character.”"

Another interesting note in Dedmon’s article is that Reav3 also dropped a hint that this new champion will be heating things up sooner than later.

Of course, it’s all speculation but it would be interesting if it means it’s a rival of Braum that uses fire abilities against the opposition. Either way, it’s going to be great to see what the finished product is.

This new champion could very well be another support class considering that Vanguards tend to bring certain abilities to a match that fall into such a role. Ranging from stuns, shielding, and healing, it would be great to have a fire-based champion that excels in a support role in the bottom lane.
