New reality television show set to hit Australia

A new reality television show is ready to hit Australia as “The Next Gamer” will center around gamers competing for a shot to sign with a professional Esports League of Legends team.

League of Legends is a global phenomenon and has millions of gamers that compete with and against each other on a daily basis. Whether you love the Esports scene or not, there is no denying how it continues to grow on a yearly basis. So much so, that watching gamers learn, train, and get ready for serious competitions can be rather entertaining.

In an article written by Tanner Dedmon for ComicBook.com, he confirmed that a new reality television show is set to debut in Australia this fall that takes this very concept to the next level. “The Next Gamer” will have 40 Summoners compete against each other through episodes until only 10 remain as to which they’ll be invited to The Next Gamer house in Sydney. There will be two teams of five as they will battle each other until only five Summoners remain.

Episodes will feature all their different personalities, working together, and most importantly, growing as a team. In a live finale, the final five members will go up against the professional League of Legends team LG Dire Wolves from the OPL region. If they beat them, one player will get an opportunity to sign a six-month contract with LG Dire Wolves in addition to $10,000 Australian dollars.

This is a great concept for a reality television show that should hopefully spawn more ideas centered around the League of Legends Esports scene.

There is so much hard work that goes into preparing for a big tournament that this would give many a glimpse at everything behind the scenes of how players prepare for everything that awaits.

In the grand scheme of things, players on a competitive League of Legends Esports team have to not only work well together in the Summoner’s Rift but also come together as one. Sometimes personalities can clash which results in quite the drama. Not everything is about big victories and epic ganks as there is a lot of passion, commitment, and heartbreak when it comes to gaming competitively as many will see in this new television show.
