League of Legends: Poppy is top free champion to play in August Week 3

Heading into the third week of August, Poppy, the Keeper of the Hammer, is the top champion to play in the free rotation.

Poppy’s lore is incredible and well, she might be small but packs a punch if you’re ever in front of her in the Summoner’s Rift. This week, the free champion rotation in League of Legends features several champions that specialize in most ADC and jungle roles but make no mistake about it, if you’ve never tried Poppy yet, give her a shot.

Poppy is viable in either the top lane or as a jungler thanks to everything she brings to the table. In the top lane, she’s incredibly hard to kill thanks to her W – Steadfast Presence. Not only does it give her a huge boost in Armor and Magic Resist when she pops it but it stops anyone from trying to jump on or dash straight to her.

As a jungler, Poppy’s kit enables her to do a decent job in clearing the jungle fairly quickly. Best of all, once she is leveled and geared, she can truly be a force to reckon with. When Poppy is in a position to gank, good luck to enemy champions trying to take her on as she will send a champion flying with her ultimate R – Keeper’s Verdict and take out the rest with precision.

Poppy is all about slowing, stunning, and again, being a tanky champion that tends to win the majority of 1v1 fights. If you’ve never played her before, make sure to stack items that focus on Health, Attack Damage, Armor, and Magic Resist.
