Heading into the final week of October, Cassiopeia, the Serpent’s Embrace, is the top free champion to play in League of Legends.

With the free champion rotation already set for this week in League of Legends, plenty of great characters are available to try out in various different roles. This week, the top champion to play easily goes to Cassiopeia, the Serpent’s Embrace.

The popular mid lane champion brings a lot to the table. Her kit is all about poison, slowing, and having an ultimate in R – Petrifying Gaze which is considered to be one of the best stuns in League of Legends.

Cassiopeia does well when farming minions and can be a headache once she’s properly geared and leveled. For those that have never played as Cassiopeia before, make sure to use items that emphasize Ability Power, Mana, and Health.

At this point in time, as per Champion.gg, Cassiopeia has a win rate of 48.31 percent. For maximum results, make sure to equip the right runes to ensure being in a position to succeed.

For runes, equip Greater Mark of Magic Penetration (9), Greater Glyph of Magic Resist (3), Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction (6), Greater Seal of Scaling Health (6), Greater Seal of Armor (3), and Greater Quintessence of Ability Power (3).

If you’re feeling bold and confident in your ability to do well with Cassiopeia right from the start, when it comes to champion select, make sure to ban either Twisted Fate, Ziggs, or Vel’Koz. They counter Cassiopeia pretty hard so it’s best to ban them and save yourself a headache all match long.

Overall, give Cassiopeia a try if you’ve never done so before as she can be a lot of fun to play in the Summoner’s Rift. Just remember, don’t look straight into her eyes even if you are ahead in CS.
