An Updated Nexus Blitz Mode Returns!
Nexus Blitz: Snowdown Edition has arrived following Patch 8.24. Riot Games’ highly chaotic and experimental game mode is once again available for play with the same intensity we saw three months ago, but with brand new, thrilling challenges for summoners to conquer and enjoy.
If you are a League of Legends player who is looking for a calm kind of game where you go to lane and peacefully start last hitting minions in hopes of scaling your champion and ultimately winning the game, Nexus Blitz probably isn’t the game mode for you.
However, if you enjoy a game with nonstop carnage and wacky destruction, you may want to give it a try.

All kidding aside, Nexus Blitz is a laid-back game mode that anyone who plays League of Legends can enjoy, from casual to pro. However, it certainly doesn’t hold the same seriousness as a ranked Summoners Rift game.
The games remain relatively short due to the Sudden Death: Nexus Walk event that triggers at the 18:00-minute mark.
Each opposing nexus literally uproots and begins walking towards one another until a victor is ultimately declared.
The special Snowdown Edition of Nexus Blitz also comes with much-needed tuning and balancing on issues the game mode faced during the initial launch. Buffs like the Blessing of Caitlyn have been completely removed as Riot Games continues to tweak and balance events, as well as rewards they deem overpowered or a bad fit.
The crazy, all-out brawls that can happen in the minigames and even crazier rewards from winning them combine for a fantastic and unique League of Legends experience all around.
One new reward involves getting in a sled with teammates and colliding with enemy champions to deal tons of damage and apply a knockback effect. It’s quirky things like this that really spice up the mode. It feels much different from a Summoners Rift game and may not appeal to everyone.
Depending on if Riot Games decides to implement the mode permanently, you may not get a chance to play Nexus Blitz again, so get in on the action while you can and you can make that choice for yourself.
