After one week of LCK play, we’ve seen a divide between the top tier and bottom tier teams. No team went 1-1 in week 1, but in LCK week 2 we’ll hopefully see some undefeated teams fall and teams that fell behind dust themselves off to get back to .500.

Right now in the LCK, we’ve seen nothing but one-sided matchups. Only one series even went to a third game (KT Rolster vs. Hanwha Life Esports). The question is, which matches in LCK week 2 do we hope will begin to separate the pack, or let teams that had a rocky start get their mojo back? As week 2 begins tomorrow, here are our initial predictions for tomorrow’s matches.

1. KT Rolster (0-2) vs. Kingzone DragonX (0-2)

One of the most surprising teams to see in a 0-2 hole after week one of play as KT, who fell to both Hanwha Life and newcomers DAMWON in the first week. Kingzone similarly suffered an uncharacteristic winless week, losing to Griffin and – shockingly – SANDBOX Gaming.

KT was ranked a top-four team in our preseason power rankings, but Kingzone is certainly no slouches. Any team with Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu should not be underestimated. True, Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan and Heo “PawN” Won-seok have been playing below their capabilities, but will they be able to regain their form?

Prediction: KT Rolster

2. Hanwha Life Esports (2-0) vs. Griffin (2-0)

Hanwha Life (“HLE”) was one of the bigger surprises from the first week of play, taking down the defending champions KT in the only three-game series and then sweeping the only Korean team to make it out of group stages last year, Afreeca Freecs.

However, Griffin is just on another level when compared to the rest of the LCK teams this year. They have given up a combined 11 deaths over their four games played this year, and two of their players – mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon and jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong – remain deathless. I’m not sure if that streak will hold up after tomorrow’s matches but I’d be shocked if Griffin dropped a game.

Prediction: Griffin
