LPL team power rankings – January 30
By Josh Tyler
The LPL enters a two-week break lasting until February 15. Who is performing well, who is lagging behind, and who are the early picks to win the league? Find out in this week’s LPL power rankings!
The first few weeks of LPL power rankings were largely based on limited sample size, observations, and conjecture. Now, after three weeks of matches…we’re still relying on limited sample size, observations, and conjecture. At least now, though, the stats are (slightly) more meaningful.
If you haven’t been following the LPL and want to catch up, now is the perfect time to binge all those old VODs. Here’s a quick look at where all the teams are now, where they’re going next, and where they need to go if they want to make a run at the spring playoffs!

16. LGD (0-4)
The only winless team in the league, it’s hard not to put LGD at the bottom of our LPL power rankings. Unfortunately, it won’t get any easier for LGD; they’ll kick off their return from the break against Invictus, followed by a bout with unbeaten FunPlus Phoenix. LGD is likely going to stay in the basement for a while longer.
15. World Elite (1-2)
World Elite (“WE”) managed to get their first win last week, upsetting an EDG team that is in playoff contention. However, this team still has a lot of lineup instability in the jungle and bot lane.
Magic and beishang are the two lowest-rated junglers in the LPL, both sporting pathetic damage per minute, questionable gold per minute, and average death numbers. As for the bot, both WE’s ADC Mystic and support Missing are in the bottom five in their position in terms of overall effectiveness. If WE wants to gain traction in the LPL power rankings, they’ll have to shore up these positions.
14. Rogue Warriors (1-3)
Rogue Warriors have one win, yes, but it should come with a huge asterisk, as it was against bottom-dweller LGD at the end of week two. Outside of that series, Rogue Warriors have won only one other game, in their 2:1 series defeat to JD Gaming.
Individually, Rogue Warriors don’t have absolute trash players, but none are rated in the top half of the LPL. Given their third-fastest average game time and second-lowest first blood percentage, this seems to be an issue with Rogue’s macro play as they fall behind to superior teams and are unable to recover.
13. OMG (1-3)
It was quite honestly a toss-up right here, as you could flip OMG with the #12 ranked team in our LPL power rankings. OMG had the most difficult early-season strength of schedule of any team in the LPL, having had to play top-rated teams like Invictus, Bilibili, and Topsports already. Their defeat of Bilibili seemed to cement them as a team that could have the talent to make a leap with more experience, but they, unfortunately, followed it up by getting swept by a middling Victory Five team.
