Another weekend of LEC goodness is upon us, and this week looks to be one of the best so far! Last week we saw joint last place Fnatic and Rogue battle it out, and despite each team being 0-4, somebody had to walk away with a win! The upcoming matches in LEC Week 4 look pretty hype. Let’s take a look at day 1!

Last week saw Rekkles put on his carry pants and thoroughly slap Rogue into the dirt with a game-ending pentakill, and British underdogs Excel took down the goliaths of Misfits Gaming. With Ki “Expect” Dae-han’s game-winning Baron steal being a particular highlight. I just know with the schedule we’ve got that LEC Week 4 will hold even more excitement than Week 3!

Game 1 – Misfits Gaming vs FC Schalke 04

Kicking off day 1 of LEC Week 4, we have two teams fighting for that coveted top three finish. Both Misfits and Schalke find themselves coming to this game with similar playstyles and win conditions – unlock the bottom side of the map and snowball their superstar AD Carries into unstoppable monsters.

More from League of Legends

Seeing Upset and Hans Sama battle it out in the bottom lane is going to be an absolute treat. Alongside the pair of them, we find their highly rated Korean supports, IgNar and GorillA. Considering IgNar’s history with Misfits and the poor year he had with BBQ Olivers last year, I can see this being a little personal, IgNar still has something to prove.

Put on top of that we’re going to see two of the LEC’s best early-game junglers Memento & Maxlore battle for supremacy, this match is going to be one to watch! While I make it a general rule to avoid betting against a fellow Englishman if I can help it, I’m going to let Maxlore down and give this game to Schalke. With more win-conditions across the map and Godoamne on their side… This is an FC Schalke 04 win!

Game 2 – SK Gaming vs Splyce

Despite a strong start for SK Gaming, we find them going into this matchup with a 2-4 record and honestly unless Splyce throws super hard (a la Norskeren forgetting to buy items again) I don’t see this match going in favor of SK. While the built-in synergy of picking up three-fifths of the MAD Lions roster served them well in the first couple of weeks, I see Splyce’s superior macro and battle-hardened veterans taking this game.

I just hope to see the mad genius in Splyce’s jungle Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir pull out something special for the upcoming match, he’s known for his unorthodox picks and we’re going to need to see something special in LEC Week 4 since he’s not treated us to anything new yet. Alongside Vizicsacsi’s stability in top-lane and the Kobbe/Norskeren insurance policy in the bottom lane, this is a Splyce win!
