With LEC Week 4 Day 1 done and out of the way, we look toward Day 2’s games. G2 continues to speed ahead of the pack with their 7-0 record and the seemingly unstoppable Misfits start to look more and more mortal as the weeks go on, ending yesterday with a 4-3 record. And to absolutely nobody’s surprise, Urgot still has a 100% pick/ban rate.

Day 1 saw Sylas being picked by three top laners and found himself being stomped by his lane opponent every time. Akali was a pick that came up big for Schalke’s Abbedagge and G2’s Caps respectively with a combined KDA of 13/4/13. There weren’t many surprises going into Day 1, most people expected Schalke to beat Misfits and nobody in their right mind expected Rogue to take down Origen. But enough about yesterday’s games, it’s time to look forward!

Game 1 – Origen vs FC Schalke 04

For the opening match of LEC Week 4 Day 2 Schalke come into this with a solid 5-game win streak and Origen are a team of inconsistencies, against the stronger teams they seem to really step up and only just miss out on a win but against the weaker ones it looks like they just kind of phone it in. That being said, I have high hopes for Origen in this game.

More from League of Legends

I feel like Origen is a good stylistic match to play vs Schalke, Nukeduck should be able to put Abbedagge through his paces and give him a real test vs European mid lane royalty. I really want to see Nukeduck being put on those big-play champions like we saw with his mid lane Vayne and the Yasuo from last week.

Odoamne is also going to be tested in the top lane vs Alphari, I hope to see Alphari on some more mechanically intensive champions like Riven/Fiora or maybe something a little more meta like the Aatrox.

Schalke’s sole win condition going into this match is the bottom lane, where the top-side of the map could go either way, bottom lane is Upset and IgNar’s kingdom. Second, only to the G2 bot lane, the tempered aggression of this duo will really test Patrik and Mithy, but ultimately if Origen doesn’t find themselves ahead in the first 15 minutes, they’ll be steamrolled by S04.

This is an FC Schalke 04 win!

Game 2 – SK Gaming vs Rogue

SK Gaming comes into the second game of LEC Week 4 Day 2 off 3-game loss streak and finds themselves competing with the 0-7 Rogue, a squad that looks nothing close to any of the other teams – even those others who find themselves towards the bottom of the table.

The only way Rogue will win this one is through Kikis gaining a lead in the jungle and snowballing this across the map. But honestly let’s be real, the likelihood is that we’re going to have the bottom and mid lanes snowballing out of control in the favour of SK and Kikis will (again) have no chance of recovering the game.

This is an SK Gaming win!

Game 3 – Misfits Gaming vs Splyce

Game 3 of Day 2 for LEC Week 4 we’ve got two middle of the pack teams, (damn that feels weird to say when referring to Misfits after the first 3 weeks!) This one like all Misfits games will be decided in the first 15 minutes, if they don’t find themselves snowballing a massive lead by then, they’ll find themselves wandering aimlessly in the mid game and Splyce’s superior macro will steamroll over Misfits.

The bottom lane matchup during this game will likely be the most interesting part of this match and will likely be the linchpin that can hold the Splyce squad in place or make them fall apart. Hans Sama and GorillA will need to find a weakness in the armor of Kobbe & Norskeren – the absolute rock for Splyce. Misfits will need to look to take advantage of Norskeren’s roams and through proper vision control, should be able to pick him off when he’s alone in the jungle.

That being said, with Humanoid’s disgusting pop-off potential we could see a big mental boom from Febiven and see NA Febi make a return. Another spicy prediction today, I call this a Splyce win!
