Wow so LEC Week 5 was wild wasn’t it? Day 1 was the same old grind as usual with G2 eviscerating Misfits and Rogue being dismantled by Schalke. Day 2 on the other hand genuinely felt like it was opposite day. Rogue took down the stagnating Misfits squad and G2’s Caps felt the wrath of Nukeduck’s Zed!

LEC Week 5 has drawn to a close and I think it’s safe to say that this whole weekend has been mad, Fnatic began their redemption tour with an impressive win over Splyce only to have the door slammed in their face by old nemesis SK Gaming. Rogue finally broke their 9-game losing streak with an absolutely stellar draft and out-performance of the overhyped and overconfident Misfits Gaming. And put on top of that G2 did the stat fiends a favor by ensuring that Sylas kept his 0% win-rate in the LEC.

Week 5 – Day 1

More from League of Legends

LEC Week 5 started off with an impressive win from Fnatic over Splyce in what they hoped would be a continuation of their redemption arc. Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau and Martin “Rekkles” Larsson were absolute powerhouses with a combined KDA of 15/3/15. Bwipo showed his American counterparts in the LCS how Jayce should be played and Rekkles absolutely bodied Splyce in team-fights with his signature Sivir pick.

G2 continued their unstoppable rampage across the LEC and took down Misfits Gaming in a fantastic showing on the rift. Jankos locked in the Elise (whose eight legs we haven’t seen grace the rift in quite a long time) and made himself feel at home in the Misfits jungle, eventually ending the game with an impressive 7/0/3 KDA. Perkz then ended up pulling out his Yasuo AD Carry which Mikyx complimented wonderfully with the Alistar and the pair absolutely steamrolled over the Misfits bot lane making their Kalista/Thresh pairing completely redundant.

Despite G2’s absolute dominance vs Misfits on Day 1 of LEC Week 5 anyone not watching this game would have been surprised to hear that Caps was not the main carry on this team with Baby Faker ending the game with a disappointing 0/1/2 KDA. That being said, it certainly wasn’t because Febiven outplayed him… The Misfits mid laner got slammed and finished 0/3/3.
