In what should have been a tightly contested LEC match between two of the best European League of Legends teams, the kings G2 emerged on top. Who was the most valuable, and least valuable, player of the game?

After last week’s disappointing defeat to Origen, G2 was looking to bounce back strong in the LEC Week 5. Unfortunately, they’d have a tough test, facing the second best League of Legends team in Europe, FC Schalke 04.

G2 ultimately won the game in just over 23 minutes, ending the game with a 5.5k gold lead. Who stood out, for good and bad reason, in this game?

MVP: Luka “Perkz” Perkovic

Although his final scoreline of 3/1/1 wasn’t anything mind-blowing, Perkz’s performance on Jayce (you read that right he pulled out the ADC Jayce) was exceptional. Not only did he secure first blood, but he helped to secure a few kills in the critical final fight in the mid lane that allowed G2 to end the game.

LVP: Felix “Abbedagge” Braun

It never feels good to be the guy who flubs the game-ending engage, but such was the life for Abbedage on Lissandra. After taking his Glacial Path and using Protobelt plus flash to secure a root onto Perkz, Abbedagge mysteriously didn’t use his ultimate on the Jayce or himself while his ally Memento on Nocturne was ulting.

With obscured vision for G2, this engage should have been a clean kill onto Perkz and possibly an easy wipe for Schalke. Instead, Abbedagge was cc’ed and killed with his Frozen Tomb still up, G2 cleaned up the rest of his team, and they took the game on that very push. An unfortunate misplay from the rookie against a team incredibly good at punishing tiny mistakes.
