The eighth week of League of Legends European Championship action stands upon us and the race for playoff spots is on the heat. Which LEC games will be the most exciting ones to watch?

Lately, in the League of Legends European Championship we were given an incredible battle between Fnatic and Schalke 04 and since S04 also lost to Splyce, they are now tied with Misfits and SK Gaming. A four-way-tie really shows how remarkably close this Spring split is, but which LEC teams will be able to prevail for the desired playoffs spot?

SK Gaming vs Origen

More from League of Legends

SK Gaming was probably shown out of the race after their upsetting loss against Excel but the next day they managed to beat G2 Esports in a thrilling match. Next up they have to beat Origen, a team that has shown great results last week especially with mid laner Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik. On paper, Origen might seem slightly favored in this matchup, but we have recently witnessed how much they care about being underdogs or not.

Fnatic vs Misfits Gaming

After a horrible 0-4 start into the League of Legends European Championship Fnatic (finally) managed to fight back and find their winning formula. They do have chances for playoffs, but every single win counts now. Contrary, Misfits began the first weeks winning and showing what kind of League of Legends this team can deliver, only falling down shortly after week 3. Both teams have some tough opponents coming up in their schedule so this match might decide who reaches Spring playoffs.

Misfits Gaming vs Schalke 04

Going 0-4 in the middle of the split normally is a death penalty for a team. Though, Schalke had a comfortable lead standing at second place tied with Vitality. This comfort zone has now vanished and Schalke needs to pick up every win they can get or else their positioning in the LEC will drop further down. Misfits are right behind them with only one win less which means winning could mean a tie between those two.

G2 Esports vs Team Vitality

Both of these two teams have had a great run so far in the Lague of Legends European Championship, though, Vitality seemed to struggle a bit recently. League of Legends constantly changes and the latest patch hurt their win rate. Now, they are up against possibly the toughest opponent in the League. Will they manage to step up and show G2 how well they can deliver or will the “Kings of Europe” dominate their enemies? Let’s wait and see.
