League of Legends champion profile: Viktor, the Machine Herald
By Josh Tyler
Game stage power
Strength in early game/laning – low
Viktor needs upgrades to his Hex Core and to build tons of AP before he comes online, so he isn’t going to have a lot of ability to bully lanes or win 1v1s early. Viktor’s main goal in the laning phase is to survive, farm up as best he can, and get to those item/ability upgrade breakpoints.
Strength in mid game/skirmishes – medium/high

Once Viktor gets to the mid game, he should have at least one (ideally two) upgrades to his Hex Core and a fair amount of ability power. At this point, he’ll be able to stall seiges of towers with ease through his upgraded E. He’ll have the survivability and slipperiness from his upgraded Q, and he’ll be able to control small skirmishes in tight corridors with her W. Add on his great AoE damage through the chaos storm and Viktor can start to do some real damage in the mid game fights.
Strength in late game/team fights – high
In the late game, Viktor becomes one of the strongest AP carries in the game. He can kite out and zone through his Q and W while also dealing tons of damage with his E and R.
Even in those open areas like the lanes and river, Viktor’s AoE is so large and imposing that as long as he is alive the Machine Herald will be able to dictate the pace of a fight. Around dragon and Baron pit, he can trap entire teams and drop all his damage on all five members with ease. Keep him alive with Redemption, Zhonya’s, or whatever you can to let him keep getting rotations of spells off to carry those late game fights.
