League of Legends: How every LCS team can upgrade their roster

9. Clutch

Clutch has been an enigma for me all year. From a pure talent perspective, they weren’t that bad, especially on the top side of the map. In practice, though, oh dear God were they atrocious. There were a few positions we could have gone to get upgrades for Clutch (ADC and mid are certainly positions they should be looking at) but ultimately we went to the support position.

For one, there are likely going to be a lot of opportunities available at support. Already, we saw Zeyzal drop into the pool and we might have one more enter the pool of available supports when this is all said and done (hint hint). But if Clutch can find one of those available supports or even pry away someone like Hakuho or BIG (two underrated LCS supports), those would all certainly be upgrades to Vulcan.

For his part, Vulcan was the worst support in the LCS when it came to getting out of lane with a gold advantage (he averaged an almost 300 gold deficit at 15 minutes) and deaths (three deaths per game), two of the most important stats for evaluating a support. Based on performance from last split, there is almost no support in the LCS who could be considered a downgrade from Vulcan. Well, besides…
