League of Legends 2019 March Madness Bracket: crowning a champion
By Josh Tyler
64 League of Legends champions entered our March Madness tournament. Who emerged on top
Finally, we are ready to crown a champion. Much like the University of Virginia won the Final Four one League of Legends champion has emerged above the rest to win our first bracket challenge! Who won our Final Four matches and who won the championship?
(9) Jhin over (1) Thresh
The miracle run of the Virtuoso continues as Jhin took down Thresh in a matchup that wasn’t even close. It was quite stunning to see the Chain Warden going down so heavily after storming through the support region of our bracket, but he got easily trounced.

(5) Kayn over (8) Ahri
I honestly didn’t see this one coming. Ahri is basically the mascot of League of Legends. She’s one of the most recognizable faces in the game, and she got beat by a champion that was released less than two years earlier.
Kayn shadow stepped his way into the finals but dodging all of Ahri’s charm. It all resulted in a battle of underdogs for the title of favorite League of Legends champion.
And the winner is…
In the end, it was Jhin who took the title, beating Kayn in the finals! Jhin received over two-thirds of the vote cast on our Twitter and Facebook pages to capture this title.
This was fairly par for the course when it came to this tournament for the Virtuoso. He consistently won matchups by a margin of 60/40 or better. The closest he ever came to defeat was in the Elite 8 when he secured only 63.6% of the vote against Ashe.
Are you surprised by Jhin’s victory over Kayn? Who do you think got robbed from the title of favorite champion? Let us know in the comments!
