How do you win a game of League of Legends? We’ll give you the guide to understand what objectives you should be taking in what order.

League of Legends doesn’t come with an instruction manual. There is no set path to winning a game of League of Legends other than “the team who kills the enemy Nexus first wins.”

Because there are so many diverse paths to victory, there tends to be a lot of debate and disagreement as to how best to go about achieving victory. Some players want to pound the enemy to death repeatedly until they surrender, others want to strategically play around objectives, some try to farm their way into gods, and others just try to slam their champions into the enemy team over and over.

No matter which tactic you prefer, at some point you’ve probably run into the issue of not knowing exactly what you should do next. We often see a lot of questions like “what should I do after I take my tower?” or “how do I translate winning lanes to winning games?”

These are complicated questions to answer in a single article (even though that’s exactly what we are going to do). Players tend to be very good at playing to the early game because they get to practice it over and over, but struggle to win later on in games because a) they don’t always get to those late-game scenarios and b) the game state in the mid and late games can vary wildly from game to game. That’s where we come in.

In math, most children are taught “Order of Operations” or sometimes referred to as “PEMDAS.” It’s basically a set of instructions for how to solve complicated algebraic equations. Thus, our goal today will be to provide you an “Order of Operations” to “solve” games of League of Legends.

This order of operations isn’t going to discuss early game concepts like farming, experience, or other laning. It assumes that you know how to collect gold and experience and are entering the start of the mid-game (around 15 minutes after turret plating has fallen) relatively even. This guide is to help you navigate the chaos of the mid and late game where players tend to become confused and not know what to do.
