If you’re a new or veteran League of Legends player trying to learn more about a new champion, we have you covered. Today, we introduce Urgot, the Dreadnought.

There are a lot of champions in the League of Legends universe to pick up and play, so we’re here to provide a bit of insight into the lore and gameplay behind every champion. If you’re someone who loves being a giant meatball with shotgun knees and watching your opponents scream as you helplessly reel them into a sure death, Urgot is for you.

A juggernaut who can flex into the top or mid lane, Urgot is a champion with tons of damage, shields bigger than someone that tough has a right to, and an ultimate that means an all-but-certain death. If that seems like your type of champion, here is a breakdown of Urgot, the Dreadnought.

More from Gameplay Guides

Urgot was once a powerful Noxian headsman, an executioner of the weak. He felt worthy of Noxus’s might, the embodiment of the Noxian ideal that strength should rule.

Unfortunately, Urgot was betrayed by the empire after he was sent to distant Zaun to eliminate a supposed conspiracy against the ruler of Noxus. Too late, he found out the mission was a trap and he was bound in iron chains, by the chem-tech force of Zaun.

There, he was forced to learn the true meaning of strength in the Dredge—a prison mine deep beneath Zaun. Emerging in a disaster that spread chaos throughout the city, he now casts an imposing shadow over its criminal underworld. Raising his victims on the very chains that once enslaved him, he will purge his new home of the unworthy, making it a crucible of pain.
