Support

Finally, we have the supports which included a stellar performance from one guy who didn’t get talked about nearly enough last week. That said, the expected best supports in Europe largely dominated Week 1.

1. Lee “Ignar” Dong-geun (Schalke 04)

More from Blog of Legends

Why is nobody talking about how spectacularly IgNar played in Week 1? He had the best adjusted KDA and kill score by a mile, the second-highest vision score per minute, and the second-highest gold quotient. He made Upset look like a very good ADC last week and is one of the bright spots on this Schalke 04 line-up.

2. Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle (G2 Esports)
3. Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun (Misfits)
4. Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez (Origen)
5. Oskar “Vander” Bogdan (Rogue)

In the category of “support playing well while his ADC struggles” Vander is the clear leader. Last season Vander was basically the only reason Rogue won ever and this season he continues to try to carry a sub-par ADC. Only this split, it’s not HeaQ, it’s Woolite.

6. Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov (Fnatic)
7. Jakub “Jactroll” Skurzyński (Vitality)
8. Han “Dreams” Min-kook (SK Gaming)
9. Raymond “kaSing” Tsang (Excel Esports)
10. Tore “Norskeren” Hoel Eilertsen (Splyce)

Biggest disappointment of Week 1, by far, was Norskeren. The guy was my pick for best support in the LEC in the Spring Split, but he came out and laid an egg to start the Summer Split.

He accounted for 28% of his team’s deaths and was the only support with a vision score per minute under 2. He may be fine as far as damage and gold acquisition goes, but Norskeren is capable of a much higher level of play. A large reason why Splyce got off to an 0-2 start is because of Norskeren.
