After an exceptional first week of LEC action, League of Legends fans will happily await more matches to happen. Here are my predictions for the first day in week two.

Misfits Gaming vs Excel Esports

After starting into the LEC with an 0-2 week, things are not looking too hot for Excel. Misfits, on the other hand, looked really good in their first match and losing against Fnatic surely is not a shame. With their experienced bot lane duo, there is always hope for a carry performance, but Excel’s roster overall simply does not play League of Legends on a comparable level to Misfits.

Prediction: Misfits Gaming

Rogue vs Team Vitality

Despite plenty of time to improve, Vitality has clearly not impressed with their most recent League of Legends offering. However, we are only one week in and surely a team with Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro as their mid laner can never be written off the paper. Rogue made significant changes during the off-season and so far, it seems to work very well, though, they have yet to prove their true place in the LEC.

Prediction: Team Vitality

Fnatic vs Origen

Unquestionably, this is the match of the week in the LEC. Two out of the top three teams facing off against each other will surely be a pleasure to watch. Nevertheless, this game will likely be decided through macro instead of micro, as it is highly improbable that either squad will go for high-risk skirmishes which might cost them the whole match. In that case, my money is on Fnatic as they have proven time and time again how well they synergize as a team in the later stages.

Prediction: Fnatic

Splyce vs FC Schalke 04

Surprisingly, Schalke did not have a flawless start in the LEC as they were only almost able to beat SK Gaming. Frankly, I can see these two League of Legends teams being tied at the end of the split as they both have a noticeably strong bottom lane, highly experienced top laners, and a decent mid-jungle synergy. Since this game is more of a coin flip on paper, I will stick with my German comrades.

Prediction: FC Schalke 04

G2 Esports vs SK Gaming

Let’s face it, SK Gaming surely has improved during the off-season as they took down Schalke in their recent LEC game. Despite all efforts, though, they will not be able to match the League of Legends G2 offers right now. Hopefully, they will be able to at least use this experience for their advantage.

Prediction: G2 Esports
