The first day of LEC play in Week 2 didn’t really show us a ton to surprise us (other than confirming Vitality is that bad), but which League of Legends team should be favored going into today’s bouts?

After watching intense game after game in the first week, expectations from League of Legends fans could not be higher in Week 2. After a few teams had statement wins on Friday, which LEC teams have the best chance to win Saturday’s matches?

Excel Esports vs Splyce

More from League of Legends

After a rough start for Excel, the squad will be looking forward to bouncing back and gaining their first win. Potentially, Splyce might be the enemy to do so as they look rather weak compared to the rest in the LEC, though, that is more of an indicator of an extremely stacked ladder than anything else. Both teams definitely have strengths they can play towards, but the overall competition is out of their hands.

Prediction: Excel Esports

SK Gaming vs Rogue

During the LEC Spring Split, most people probably would have seen SK as the clear favorite and written the game off – myself included. Although they are far from being a top contender, Rogue has improved massively through their roster changes, but it is still rather questionable if they can offer enough to beat SK. Nevertheless, I am certain we will see great League of Legends from both teams and if anything an excellent fight for the win.

Prediction: Rogue

Origen vs Misfits

Despite not looking too bad so far, Misfits are unquestionably the clear underdogs here. Origen is potentially the second best team in the LEC, whereas Misfits is just enough to maybe make playoffs. Although there was an announcement on Thursday that Thomas “Kirei” Yuen will be substituting in for Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian, an upset is still highly unlikely.

Prediction: Origen

Schalke 04 vs Fnatic

Similar to the recent matchup, we have a clear difference between these two LEC teams. One has shown world-class League of Legends last year and the other one, well, they have Upset, at least.

The only possibility of Fnatic losing this one is by falling behind massively in the bottom lane, that is where Elias “Upset” Lipp can turn on the one-man-army show. Despite his incredible ability to carry games, I simply cannot believe their opponents will let that happen.

Prediction: Fnatic

Team Vitality vs G2 Esports

Only one week in, Vitality has not acquired any wins, yet. In opposition, G2 almost effortlessly took down Splyce, SK Gaming, and one of the top LEC contenders, Origen. Which is expected from the MSI champions. For Vitality to have any chance in this game, they need to surprise their opponents in the draft and represent their absolute peak League of Legends, or else there is absolutely no way.

Prediction: G2 Esports
