League of Legends champion profile: Orianna, the Lady of Clockwork
By Josh Tyler
Strength at each game stage
Strength in early game/laning – medium
Orianna has decent laning and trading with all her abilities plus the damage amp from her passive. She is fairly short-ranged, however, and doesn’t have incredibly good waveclear. She’ll struggle against assassins and long-range mages, but generally, there aren’t many match-ups where she will massively struggle.

Strength in mid game/skirmishes – low/medium
While Orianna has great damage and presence in small skirmishes, that’s not really where shines. Because of her lack of mobility and need to scale up with items (both for damage and CDR so she can manipulate the ball), she can easily get popped by those divers and assassins.
Strength in late game/team fights – medium/high
This is where Orianna really shines. While she’s not a massive hyper-carry at six items like Master Yi, once she hits late game Orianna will do a surprising amount of damage. In addition, this is where Orianna’s ultimate truly becomes game-changing.
If you put The Ball on a priority ally and get the ball positioned so your ult can hit three to five enemies, it can win the team fight. On the other hand, if you miss the R – Command: Shockwave it’s a huge missed opportunity.
