Riot’s second game to go along with League of Legends – Teamfight Tactics – will officially drop on June 26.

Teamfight Tactics, at least right now, looks like it could be the next “League of Legends killer.” With staggeringly high viewership numbers on Twitch (over 100,000 viewers at present, slightly higher than League and on par with Fortnite), the new game mode is poised to become the definitive entry into the burgeoning auto-chess/auto-battler genre. And now, it’s going to become available for everyone to play.

More from League of Legends

Riot has

that the game mode will become available in open beta (meaning that all League players will have access to Teamfight Tactics in the League client) to players in North America, beginning on June 26. Riot’s statement also confirms that players do

need to have an existing League of Legends account to play, so if you’re someone who is interested in playing Teamfight Tactics but has never touched League, all you have to do is create an account (which is free) and you’ll have access to Teamfight Tactics.

Although the June 26 launch date for the open beta only applies to North America, Riot assures all you Tacticians around the world that the multi-regional roll-out will take place over the course of the week. So it should only be a few days wait for our friends around the world to get their first TFT action.

Riot also states further plans for the mode, which will drop in a couple of weeks along with Patch 9.14, such as the already announced ranked mode and Little Legends but it also includes some new content. Riot’s near-term planned updates include a mission/pass system (similar to that currently in the game for League), board skins, player icons, and emotes! Of course, this will also include Little Legends, the avatars that represent the players during gameplay.
