Today we take a look at Sivir, a short-ranged marksman that is a menace in late game teamfights. If you’re looking to improve your AD Carry champion pool or want an option for when you’re autofilled, this guide is the place to start!

Often it may seem like if you’ve mastered one marksman you’ve mastered them all, but Sivir is an exception to that rule due to her short attack range and vulnerability in the early stages of the game. However, the Battle Mistress is unmatched in late game teamfights thanks to her auto attacks ricocheting around the enemy team with a 100% critical strike chance. That’s not to mention her game changing ultimate that can be used to kick off a fight or chase down fleeing foes.

More from Gameplay Guides

She may not be the most exciting option in the AD Carry role, but with her 52% win rate (as of Patch 9.13) and high presence in pro play, perhaps now is the perfect time to pick up the Shuriman marksman. This champion guide will run through all the essential information you’ll need to master Sivir from champion select to the Rift, from a breakdown of her abilities all the way to her best voice lines.

Lore

Sivir is a ruthless sellsword infamous around Shurima for winning battle after battle for those who paid a hefty price for her unmatched skill set. From birth she was destined to become the fearsome leader she is today. When Sivir was a child her parents were killed by a group of marauders, forcing her to fend for herself alongside other Shuriman orphans. This encouraged her to join a group of mercenaries and learn to fight for herself, soon becoming their leader after striking down her greedy predecessor.

From then, Sivir’s reputation grew and her group of sellswords became well-known beyond the Shuriman deserts. Soon, armed with her new crossblade “the Chalicar”, Sivir found herself searching ancient ruins with Noxian noblewoman, Cassiopeia Du Couteau. Upon reaching the end of their search, Cassiopeia stabbed Sivir in the back, but then activated an ancient Shuriman trap that transformed her into the Serpent’s Embrace and unleashed old gods from their tombs.

Despite the mortal wound that she endured, Sivir found herself being nursed back to health by the last ruler of the Shuriman empire, Azir, who unbeknownst to her, shared her blood line. Azir then rose the ancient city of Shurima from the sand with his new-found celestial power, prompting Sivir to flee the scene and consider her destiny.

After a short run-in with Ascended being, Xerath – who was determined  to end the Azir bloodline – Sivir had to make a choice: follow her destiny as the heiress of Shurima or carve out her own.
