League of Legends Patch 9.14 breakdown – Teamfight Tactics edition

Tier 3 Champions
Aatrox
"Mana cost: 100 ⇒ 75 Damage: 350-850 ⇒ 400-1000"
Blademasters are pretty bad as a Class in Teamfight Tactics, so giving Aatrox more damage makes him a bit better to pick. Plus, it makes getting six Demons a bit more attractive due to the late game buff the Origin got.
Evelynn
"Health: 550 ⇒ 600 Execute threshold: 50% HP ⇒ 65% HP Execute damage multiplier: 300/400/500% ⇒ 300/500/700% Eve’s ability now roots targets during the cast time (0.35s) to prevent them from moving out of the area of effect."
Probably one of the best Demons in the game and played as part of that threatening Assassin comp, nice to see Eve is getting some nerfs to make her more reliant on that ult. When she gets the ult, though, boy she’ll do tons of damage.

Gangplank

Nice buffs to GP, but again he’s still got the problems of most other Pirates and Gunslingers. At least he can also flex into Blademasters for synergy, but ultimately I suspect he’ll still be underwhelming.
Katarina
"Fixed a bug where her ability wasn’t properly preventing enemy healing"
Buff via bug fix.
Kennen
"Damage: 300-660 ⇒ 400-900 Attack damage: 60 ⇒ 70"
Elementalists got nerfed as a class, but Kennen should still be a monster with that AoE damage from his ult.
Morgana
"No longer casts her ability at times when no enemies would be in range at start of cast Damage: 250-450 ⇒ 300-450"
Buff that, again, makes Demons a bit more attractive to play, but also makes her slot as a Sorcerer quite strong.
Poppy
"Armor: 30 ⇒ 40 Stun duration: 1.5/2.5/3.5 ⇒ 2/3/4 Number of targets hit: 1 ⇒ 1/2/3"
With the Knight/Yordle synergies she has, getting buffs is going to make Poppy extremely good in the mid game. That buff to her ability with more CC might actually make her busted.
Rengar
"Savagery’s attack speed buff is now multiplicative (it increases Rengar’s attack speed ratio)"
Knife cat gets nice buff.
Shyvana
"Attack speed: 0.65 ⇒ 0.7 Health: 550 ⇒ 650 Bonus attack damage while dragon: 60-160 ⇒ 100-200"
She’s the worst part of building Dragon synergy, so this is nice to make her more of a menace when you want to counter full Sorcerer/Elementalist comps.
Veigar
"Damage to lower star champions: 9999 ⇒ 19999 Mana cost: 85 ⇒ 75"
Oh, sweet Jesus…Veigar is going to be an absolute monster.
Volibear
"Health: 650 ⇒ 700 Attack speed: 0.55 ⇒ 0.65 Mana cost: 100 ⇒ 75 Lightning attack damage ratio: 60-100% ⇒ 80-100%"
Don’t get this buff either. Voli was fine as a Glacial/Bruiser, so now he’s going to be even more of a priority pick in Teamfight Tactics.
Tier 4 Champions
Akali
"Fixed a number of bugs that would sometimes cause her ability to not deal damage No longer casts her ability at times when no enemies would be in range at start of cast"
Ho hum, buffs via bug fixes.
Brand
"Mana cost: 100 ⇒ 125"
Good to see that Riot is nerfing at least one late game carry.
Cho’gath
"Health: 1100 ⇒ 1000 Knockup duration: 2/2.25/2.5 ⇒ 1.5/2/2.5"
Considering Cho had the highest base HP of any champion in Teamfight Tactics and had this massive crowd control, yeah I think these nerfs were warranted.
Draven
"Attack speed: 0.85 ⇒ 0.75"
Say goodbye to the League of Draaaaaven as a late game monster. Or actually, maybe not I still think he’ll be strong.
Gnar
"Health: 850 ⇒ 750 Armor: 35 ⇒ 30"
He had one of the highest HP and armor totals of any champion in the game. Getting that reduced was probably worth it, but I do have concerns this could leave Gnar towards the weak side.
Leona
"Mana cost: 150 ⇒ 100"
The premiere tank in Teamfight Tactics (highest armor in the game and second-highest base HP) getting her ult up quicker is just the cherry on top.
Sejuani
"Stun duration: 3/4/5 ⇒ 2/3.5/5"
Considering that it’s almost impossible to get a Tier 3 Sejuani, this will likely prove to be a straight-up nerf.
Tier 5 Champions
Anivia
"Ability no longer cancels when Anivia dies"
Wow that’s actually pretty huge considering how she does such low DPS and needs every second of that channel.
Miss Fortune
"Ability targeting: random enemy ⇒ current attack target Now retargets her ability if the target dies during the windup Fixed a bug where Miss Fortune would sometimes move and change her ult’s trajectory while channeling Mana cost: 75 ⇒ 100"
Nice bug fixes for MF, but she definitely needed that nerf to her ultimate. In the late game, she can completely swing a team fight.
Yasuo
"Ability now applies on-hit effects Knockup duration: 1.25 ⇒ 1.5 Damage: 150/250/350 ⇒ 150/350/550"
Yasuo is so underwhelming as a champion in Teamfight Tactics buffs were needed. Do I think these buffs make him or Exiles as a class more appealing? No, not at all.
