League of Legends: LEC Week 8 player power pankings
Two weeks remain for the LEC teams to secure a place amongst European League of Legends’ elite. But which players are set to guide their team to Summer Split success?
Top Lane
1 Martin “Wunder” Hansen (G2 Esports)
2 Tamás “Vizicsacsi” Kiss (Splyce)
3 Barney “Alphari” Morris (Origen)
4 Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau (Fnatic)
5 Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet (Team Vitality)
6 Dae-han “Expect” Ki (Excel Esports)
7 Jun-hyung “Profit” Kim (Rogue)
8 Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu (Schalke 04)
9 Danny “Dan Dan” Le Comte (Misfits Gaming)
10 Toni “Sacre” Sabalić (SK Gaming)
5) VIT Cabochard
A troublesome start to the Summer Split meant Team Vitality looked destined to miss out on playoffs, but after 4 losses in their opening 2 weeks, Europe’s 2018 Worlds contenders are back on track with a 7-3 record in their last 10 games. One of the main casualties of Vitality’s fall from grace was talented top laner Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet, one of the better performers on an abysmal Vitality roster, but unable to recapture the level of form he showcased throughout 2018.

Since the sudden upturn in form, Europe’s current fifth-place team have gone from strength to strength, proving once again that they’re capable of an aggressive, domineering early game, as well as calculated, intelligent late game calls. While mid laner Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro may get all the plaudits for his solo kills and explosive plays in the centre of the map, Cabochard’s complete control of the top side of the map often goes unnoticed.
In Week 7, the French top laner piloted Karma in wins over both G2 and Excel, receiving a Player of the Game award for his performance against latter. As Team Vitality climb up the LEC standings, Cabochard simultaneously climbs up the player power rankings, reclaiming his spot amongst the best top laners in Europe.

6) OG Kold
From Spring Split playoff runners-up to clinging onto sixth for dear life, Origen’s mid-season collapse has been a shock to us all, but finally they’ve established a small gap between themselves and the teams below them and look set to secure a place in playoffs.
Currently, Origen are incapable of nailing down an undefeated weekend. With six 1-1 weekends and one 0-2, the OG players must be feeling dismayed at how 2019 has completely fallen apart after such a promising start. Fortunately, both Week 7 performances in victory over Misfits Gaming and defeat to Schalke 04 will give fans hope for a successful season.
With a Player of the Game award on Friday, and a number of game-changing Skarner ultimates on Saturday, perhaps Jonas “Kold” Andersen is the man to lead Origen back to their former glory. The Danish jungler and his team are undoubtedly favourites to take the final playoff position, but their performances in playoffs is another story.
BO1s and BO5s are a completely different kettle of fish, and whether Origen have the ability to take down their close rivals over a five-game series in their present state remains to be seen, but Kold’s command on the jungle will have a huge impact on Origen’s 2019 LEC success.
