10 fan-made skin ideas we’d love to see added to League of Legends!

A recent post on the League of Legends subreddit pitched 100 unique skins from the mind of a fan. Here are the 10 we think Riot should consider making!

Fans and players of League of Legends never fail to impress me with their creativity. After a lengthy discussion on the League of Legends subreddit about the lack of diversity with regards to which champions get skins, one enterprising Redditor took it upon themselves to create a list of new skin ideas for those under-represented champions. 100 such skins, to be exact.

Some of these skins have a great deal of detail, with suggestions for visuals and effects, while others are simply concepts. Some draw off existing skin lines, some propose new ones, and some would just be one-offs. Most importantly, though, while some of the skin ideas seem a bit weird or uninteresting, some of them seem really cool. Here are the ten skins from that list we think Riot should look at making.

10. Officer Ornn

This is one of the more fleshed-out design concepts and honestly, I was immediately blown away. The skin would have Ornn spawn a traffic cone for his Q instead of the usual pillar and bash opponents with a Riot shield when he charges forward.

One addition/change I would make to the concept is to make the ult a police car instead of a ram, complete with sirens. I think that would really make the skin unique among the Officer skin line.

9. Superhero Galio

Based slightly around the Super Teemo skin, this would be one of the first in a superhero-type skin line. Galio, with his R – Hero’s Entrance jumping into battle to save his teammates, would be a perfect addition. Just make sure to give him that red cape flapping behind him in the wind.

8. Supervillain Swain

On the opposite side, having superhero skins naturally opens the door for their opposite in villain skins. Of all the champions in League of Legends, Swain is the one who I think best fits the supervillain moniker. Not only is he a master tactician (ala Lex Luthor or Baron Zeemo) he’s an undead, demonic creature who sucks souls from his enemies. Count me in!

7. Battle Academia Master Yi

Although the idea is explicitly tied to the Battle Academy skin line that dropped earlier this season, the Battle Academia Yi skin seems to be a bit more geared towards a martial arts master theme than the anime school kids and teachers picks. That said, I think Yi could work as an instructor in the Battle Academia theme as sort of that thin, stern, disciplinarian.

6. Battle Academia Wukong

Desperately in need of a skin, and I just love the idea of adding a non-human champion into the Battle Academia skin line. It has a very “Umbrella Academy” feel to it.

5. Rageborn Olaf

This skin is really interesting as it’s an attempt to expand on the Rageborn Dr. Mundo skin and propel it into a skin line of its own. I think this could definitely have potential as a sort of Hulking-out type of skin line where some champions go nuts. Olaf, with his R – Ragnarok, would fit this theme perfectly as he goes into full Rageborn mode.

4. Rageborn Trundle

I think this would be a perfect skin that could really give more flavor to a visually underwhelming ability, his R – Subjugate. Now, it just kind of looks like Trundle does a Blade of the Ruined King effect, but potentially Riot could make the skin give this more of a raging, beast who gets tankier with the stolen resistances from his prey.

3. Toy Soldier Azir

This got a lot of hype in the comments of the Reddit thread, for good reason. It not only expands on the popular Toy skin line, it had some really cool visuals that harken back to Christmas movies where a hero or villain commands his army of toy soldiers.

2. Arcade Bard

This was in the miscellaneous skin section of the post, but I think there are a lot of really cool ideas that could come with this skin. His R – Tempered Fate could have a pause button, his W – Caretaker Shrines could “power up” when they reach a higher power, and he could even have a cool pipe travel effect like from “Super Mario” when he goes through his E – Magical Journey.

1. Pool Party Illaoi

I just think this is so on the nose, having her tentacles instead be those giant pool noodles. Plus, adding splash effects to all her tentacle slams and making her vessel into a kind of watery ghost just sounds cool.
