Bot Lane

ADC: Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes vs Cody “Cody Sun” Sun
Support:  Vincent “Biofrost” Wang vs Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme

Stixxay had himself a heck of a regular season, by his standards, but he was often outclassed by a lot of ADCs in NA. He’s not a bad player, by any means, but he’s not the reason for his team winning many games. During the playoffs, his KDA has actually gotten worse from the regular season, as he averaged half a death more per game.

CLG continues to try and put him on Xayah, which baffles me because he has among the worst stats of any champion while playing her. Unfortunately, he also hasn’t shown a willingness to play the other strongest meta champion, Kai’Sa (he played her zero times during the season and playoffs). When pushed onto less-ideal picks he’s strong on (Caitlyn or Sivir), he performs better, but those can be easily countered.

Luckily, he has one of the best supports in the LCS to bail him out. Biofrost may have underperformed slightly from the regular season, but he definitely has the pedigree of experience and the ability to play many different champions in the bot lane.

I would certainly bet on Biofrost to outperform Vulcan, who looked like he was not on the same page at multiple times during Saturday’s matches. He would often initiate fights (in particular during Game 2 on Leona) when his team wasn’t close enough to follow or already backing off.

However, his lane mate Cody Sun continued to assert his position as the second-best NA ADC behind Doublelift. He averaged a mind-boggling 708 damage per minute during Saturday’s series, and a combined scoreline of 15/3/16 over four games. That’s a 10.33 KDA.

The question is, then, does Biofrost’s advantage over Vulcan outweigh Cody’s advantage over Stixxay. It’s a very close call, but I’m going to give it to the Cody/Vulcan.
