10. Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu (DAMWON Gaming) – 74 OVR

I had to double-check the numbers when our rankings said that Canyon wasn’t even in the top ten junglers in the World, but lo and behold the numbers are right and they tell an interesting story about one of the presumed-best junglers in the world. For instance, for a player often lauded for his pathing, why does he average gold and experience deficits at the 15-minute mark? And why does he have one of the worst adjusted gold per minute numbers (319 aGPM) of any jungler, behind noted tank players like Lira (322.9 aGPM).

9. Lee “Shrimp” Byeong-hoon (Flamengo) – 75 OVR

It’s quite surprising that a jungler from the emerging regions would crack our top 10, especially over stalwarts like Sven and Broxah, but Shrimp has been a quietly dominant jungler in the CBLoL. His 384 aGPM and 352.5 aDPM are both tops among junglers at the World Championship, and his early game is quite solid.

Now, I would anticipate that those numbers will be worse now that he’s facing better competition. Junglers in this tournament will probably take advantage of his weak vision control (1.76 VSPM) and tendency to die a lot (2.9 deaths per game is fourth-worst among junglers).

8. Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir (Splyce) – 78 OVR

I’ve been on the “Xerxe is underrated” train for a long time now and I’m happy that his numbers from the Summer Split at least bear that out. Now, he does have one glaring weakness in his income (his 310.6 aGPM, 15.1% raw gold share, and 319 raw GPM are all the worst among junglers at Worlds), but in just about every other category he stacks up very well.

7. Đỗ “DNK” Ngọc Khải (Lowkey) – 79 OVR

DNK has proven himself to be one of the best early-game junglers, averaging 395 gold and 503 XP advantages at 15 minutes. While it’s against weaker competition than he’ll face at Worlds, the fact that he can play the early game so well makes me confident he might be able to hang around with the big boys.

He also has one of the best adjusted kill participations (107.3%) largely due to the fact that he has the highest kill share (25.6%) of any jungler at the World Championship. That might seem odd for a jungler, but the rest of his team’s carries tend to be among the worst in their roles at Worlds. I know a lot of people expect Griffin to be a big team to carry from the jungle, but Lowkey could also fit that mold.

6. Hong “Karsa” Hao-Xuan (RNG) – 80 OVR

The transition from the LMS to LPL hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Karsa, but the long-time Flash Wolves member has shown that he was ready to step up into the spotlight. There is nothing that Karsa does poorly and his champion pool is very deep (he has a KDA over 4.00 on six of the eight junglers he played in the summer). He’s not a very resource-heavy jungler, with income and damage numbers right in the middle of the pack, but on a team with Uzi having a low-econ jungler who can make his impact felt like Karsa has is invaluable.
