Following several hints, teasers and a very telling leak from the Chinese server, the League of Legends community have all but confirmed that Senna, Lucian’s wife, is set to be the next champion released by Riot Games.

Since Lucian was added to League of Legends in 2013, the lore has always focused on his determination to cleanse the Shadow Isles of undead after Thresh trapped his wife, Senna, in his lantern during their first encounter. But, that may all be about to change.

More from League of Legends

How Senna escaped Thresh’s clutches and freed herself of his lantern is still unknown, but what we do know is everything points towards the champion’s release in the coming weeks.

First of all, earlier this week it was discovered that an ominous green smog randomly appears on your screen when spawning into Summoner’s Rift, similar to that of the Shadow Isles and Lucian’s log in screen. Then today, whether intentional or not, players on the Chinese PBE server caught a glimpse of an unexpected name in their Missions as Senna joined a host of other champions in the latest set of objectives for players.

This new information, combined with a leaked splash art from back in August, has players convinced that Senna is locked in as the next champion added to League of Legends. Earlier in the year, Riot’s champion roadmap revealed that a “very non-traditional marksman” would be joining the roster before the end of 2019, which points towards Senna the ADC heading onto Summoner’s Rift in the final few months of the year.

Ultimately we have very little information to go off so far and have more questions than answers. That being said, we can speculate about what’s to come with Senna’s release by answering these three main questions.
