The League of Legends ranked season has almost come to an end. Just three days remain for you to reach your desired rank, so here’s a list of 5 supports to climb with before your rank is locked in forever.

Three days to go. We’re all pouring blood, sweat, and salt into League of Legends solo queue right now, but it will all be to no avail if we’re not correctly picking our champions based on utility, composition fit, and most importantly, win rates. There are a bunch over high win rate support champions on Patch 9.22, so if you’re a support main seeking guidance on who to lock in in champion select, this list is for you.

We’ll be picking out the top five supports you should pick in solo queue if you want a quick LP boost before the season ends on November 19th! It’s important to remember that you’re much more likely to climb if you pick familiar, comfortable champions in solo queue, but if you need some inspiration for the final three days of ranked, this list is perfect for you.

So, head into solo queue, stick SUPPORT as your Primary role, and get that sweet, free LP by picking one of these five champions:

5 Morgana

Remarkably, the champion with the highest ban rate on Patch 9.22 is Morgana. Not Yasuo, not Akali, not Senna, not Shaco. Morgana.

Therefore, it goes without saying that you should grab this champion as soon as you see her available in champion select. Her ability to shut down a number of CC-heavy supports that thrive in the current meta is unmatched, making her an ideal partner for a vulnerable, scaling AD Carry.

To carry with Morg, play around your E – Black Shield, using it to prevent any enemy engage attempts, then follow up with a Q – Dark Binding for free kills or summoner spells. In the later stages of the game, simply follow your most fed teammate around the map and in team fights to aid their damage output, blocking any attempts from opponents to lock them down.

What separates Morgana from other supports in the current meta is her ability to both engage and disengage in the bottom lane. The majority of champions on this list are purely engage-focused with tools to start a fight, but none to stop a fight in its tracks.

In a meta where being able to dictate where and when skirmishes are played out, Morgana is the perfect option for a player who wants to carry from the support role.

4 Bard

Bard isn’t overpowered, nor is he guaranteed to grant you free LP in the run-up to the season’s end. But what we can say is he’s very fun to play and there is nothing more satisfying than landing a clean five-man ulti or a crafty double-stun in the bottom lane to start a fight.

In the current meta, it’s almost essential for a support to have heavy crowd control to lock down a single target either in lane or in a team fight. Bard’s Q – Cosmic Binding is technically heavy CC, but isn’t what you’d consider key to kicking off a fight or setting up a kill in the bottom lane.

Instead, Bard’s strengths revolve around his usage of E – Magical Journey and R – Tempered Fate to traverse the Rift, set up ganks, and turn team fights around in his team’s favor. With how game-changing a well-placed Bard ultimate can be, the skill ceiling for this champion is incredibly high, and it could take time to master Bard in the highest elos of solo queue.

That being said, it’s not impossible to pick him up now and become a top tier Bard player before the season ends next week. If you want to climb the ladder while also having fun, maybe Bard is the pick for you!

3 Senna

The latest champion to join the League of Legends roster is Senna, the Redeemer. As is the case with a lot of newly released champions, Senna is pretty broken in her current state. Take advantage of this by locking her in and using her extremely long-range W – Last Embrace stun to start fights and single-handedly carry your lane match-up.

2 Nautilus

After being almost irrelevant for a few seasons, Nautilus has finally made a name for himself and become a staple in the bot lane meta. Not only that, but you may also see him playing in the jungle or in either solo lane due to his inherently tanky base stats and rage-inducing crowd control.

It’s only a matter of time before Naut receives a well-deserved nerf, but on Patch 9.22 he’s still a powerful pick for the support role. Head into the bot lane, soak up some damage and pick off a squishy marksman with Q – Dredge Line. If you can burn a Flash from either enemy support or AD Carry then it’s basically GG as you can pick them off with layered crowd control for your lane partner to burst them down.

As for team fights, you’ll be a menace. Cast R – Depth Charge for multiple enemy knock-ups to start the fight, then chase down fleeing foes with more Dredge Lines while protecting your ADC with peel. Naut is the ultimate CC bot and the perfect support for the current meta due to his ability to soak up damage and set up plays.

1 Leona

Speaking of CC bots, Leona is just as obnoxious when it comes to layering crowd control and locking down a target with ease. Pair her with an early game marksman and you could win your games before the ten-minute mark for the most efficient LP gains of your life!

In lane, permanently threaten an engage by walking up to the opposing laners with the damage mitigation provided by casting W – Eclipse. After your carry has enjoyed some free farm, consider engaging on the enemy with an E – Zenith Blade, Q – Shield of Daybreak combo, locking down an enemy champ to burn summoners or pick up a kill.

As for team fights, always be on the lookout for a stranded enemy squishy to cast your ultimate, Solar Flare, onto for a free stun and kill to kick off a fight with a numbers advantage. From there, be sure to protect your AD Carry from charging assassins or bruisers, peeling with the wealth of CC in Leona’s kit.

Leo is the number one choice for support mains on Patch 9.22 due to her extremely simple skillset and extremely high win rate (52.44%). If you have to pick one champion to learn and grind ranked with in the short time remaining in Season 9, make Leona that champion.
