Even with the League of Legends World championship over you can still watch some good matches through the Twitch Rivals event to see which group of streamers and other League of Legends personalities is the best.

Twitch Rivals is an event that has happened a few times in the past for League of Legends. However, it is set to make a return on November 22nd until the finals on the 26th 2019. The tournament is made up of eight teams divided into two groups of four for double round-robin competition. The best two teams in each group advance to the semi-finals, which are best of three and then the winners advance to the finals. Whoever wins the finals wins a $25,000 top prize. So now that we have an idea of the event format, let’s see what teams are competing.

More from League of Legends

Group A

The first team is captained by lolTyler1, the reformed player known for his Draven. 1adrianaries1 is the top laner for this team, who is known for is Riven play.  Tarzaned, who is mostly known for his Graves play and is a former rank 1 player will be in the jungle. Soligo the mid lane player for 100 Thieves and 100 Thieves academy will hold down the mid lane thanks to a rule that allows a maximum of two professional/academy players to join the event.  Joining Tyler1 in the bottom lane is former professional player and current Harrisburg University coach Xpecial.

The second team is captained by Shiphtur, a former professional player. He is joined by An Obese Panda, formerly the jungler for Echo Fox, Darshan, a current player on Golden Guardians Academy, Benji another former academy player and Hanjarolol, who calls himself the best Pyke in North America.

Shiphtur and Darshan are former teammates which is a pretty cool synergy, as is Darshan and Benji both playing for Golden Guardians Academy. It’s a strong roster with a lot of professional experience.

The third team is captained by nightblue3, the jungle streamer, who played at the 2018 All-Star event. He is joined by RevengeLeague the top laner with Flyquest Academy, KatEvolved, fresh off of playing in 2019 scouting grounds, LOLGERANIMO and Swifte.

I think this is a team a few will underestimate because of how known some of the players seem to be. I don’t feel like people know have heard of any of the players outside of nightblue3 and maybe KatEvolved if they are more of a casual fan. That could change here with a good showing in the tournament.

The fourth team belongs to Solorenektononly, a top lane one-trick on a certain meta gator champion. Joining his squad is ANDA, a professional jungler that was with 100 Thieves, Yamikaze a challenger Talon main, Locodoco, a former professional player and coach and Stunt of the 100 Thieves academy team.

This could be an interesting team to watch with two 100 Thieves players playing together after winning the 2019 Summer LCS Academy championship. I also want to see how well Locodoco plays. I enjoy his videos on YouTube, but it’s pretty much all analyzing and not much gameplay. It should be cool to see how all of his game knowledge applies in practice, not just theory.
